Christian Songs I Would Like to Play on the Violin

I played the violin for a couple of years in elementary school, but quit because, at the time, I got bored of it. And now, I regret quitting, because I actually love the violin. I think I just didn't want to practice. Which I know a lot of people are that way with practicing something. They want to be good at something without having to practice. But, I am eager to get back into it, and learning how to play, and I do want to practice! Here are some Christian songs I would like to learn how to play on the violin: Amazing Grace Joy to the World How Great Thou Art It is Well With My Soul To God Be the Glory Hallelujah What a Friend We Have in Jesus In Christ Alone Agnus Dei O, Holy Night Away in a Manger O Come All Ye Faithful Angels We Have Heard on High Ave Maria Hark! The Herald Angels Sing Ding Dong Merrily On High Miracle Hymn What a Beautiful Name 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) Jesus Loves Me, This I Know Firm Foundation (He Won't) O Come O Come Emmanuel The Lord's Pray...

My Week at Joni and Friends Retreat 2023: Days 5 and 6

Well, it's on to days 5 and 6, the last two days of camp. On Thursday, we had our usual STM morning devotions and prayers, and breakfast afterwards. After breakfast, we had an accessible worship, where those who wanted to, could come up on stage to sing along with the leaders. It's always a favorite of mine, watching the accessible worship. After that, the other sweet shop people and I helped set up the sweet shop for the women's lunch that afternoon. When we were done with that, we were given the rest of the morning off, to relax. I decided to sit in on morning programming again, with the high schoolers. When I got there, they were putting aluminum foil on, to look like the armor of God, and then they made a keychain/bracelet/necklace with mini shoes, to represent walking in the truth. Again, I was allowed to make my own shoe keychain, which I enjoyed making. We then had lunch, and afternoon activities. While manning the sweet shop, the person that was in charge kindly gav...

My Week at Joni and Friends Retreat 2023: Days 3 and 4

Part two of my week at retreat is of Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday, the STMs had morning devotions and prayers, then it was time for breakfast. I am not a fan of these early mornings (We have our devotionals at 7:40 am), but for camp, I am willing to put up with it for a few days! After breakfast, me and the other sweet shop volunteers made a few more batches of brookies to sell. I am now known/famous for the brookies, as people kept coming up to me, saying that they really enjoyed them. I suppose that's a good thing! That took about an hour or so, and we were able to have the rest of the morning off. I went to my room to rest, before lunch. After lunch, me and the other sweet shop people were in the shop for the afternoon. There were supposed to be fun activities for the campers/families, but it ended up raining, so bingo was set up in the sweet shop for those who wanted to play, which made it quite a bit busier for us on a Tuesday, than usual. Which is a good thing. We then had ...

My Week at Joni and Friends Retreat 2023: Days 1 and 2

Family retreat has now come and gone, and I had an amazing time there!! I so needed this week at camp. I wish I was still there, as the week went by too fast. I have decided to break this post up into 3 parts, so that it won't be too long to read. This post will be about days 1 and 2, Sunday and Monday. I was in the sweet shop again this year, which I was very happy about. This year was my fourth year at retreat, and every year I was in the sweet shop. For a while, I wasn't sure if I would be able to go to retreat this year, but things turned out in my favor, and I got to go. I did week 2 (Sunday, June 11 to Friday, June 16) of this retreat again, like I have every year (there are three weeks total), and I arrived a day early, on Saturday, with a friend who was also doing week 2 (although she was also staying for week 3 and couldn't drive me home). Sunday, everyone else who wasn't there already arrived, and we then started training. Training was basically how to handle ...

Reading the Bible in One Year: August Reading

Well, July was a rough one for me. I ended up getting sick a couple of times (the first time was the first half of July, and the second time was 3 or so days near the end of the month), and most of the time I didn't have the energy to do much of anything.  A few different times in July, I fell behind with my Bible reading, but I was able to catch up each time, when I did have the energy. Which I am happy about. I didn't want to fall too far behind. Hopefully August goes more smoothly for me. I really do not want to get sick again (or for anything else to happen; not just so I can keep reading, but so I can remain healthy, and be able to take care of myself better). Here is the reading for August: Isaiah 64-66 2 Kings 20-21 2 Chronicles 32-33 Nahum 1-3 2 Kings 22-23, 2 Chronicles 34-35 Zephaniah 1-3 Jeremiah 1-3 Jeremiah 4-6 Jeremiah 7-9 Jeremiah 10-13 Jeremiah 14-17 Jeremiah 18-22 Jeremiah 23-25 Jeremiah 26-29 Jeremiah 30-31 Jeremiah 32-34 Jeremiah 35-37 Jeremiah 38-40, Psalm 7...
