Joni and Friends Retreats

Well, it's that time of year again!! Registration for Joni and Friends Family Retreat recently opened, which is something I look forward to every year (although, I am not able to go this year, unfortunately). They have different themes every year, which is pretty cool. Last year's theme was An Anchor for the Soul, and many of the STMs (short term missionaries) got dressed up with some pretty cool costumes. You can find out more about retreats here , as well as finding a retreat near you here , if you are interested in learning more. Family retreats are week-long retreats for people with disabilities and their families, where they can relax, have fun, hear the word of God, and not have to worry about the stress of every day life for a while. In my opinion, it is the best week of the year. You get to serve others (or be served, if you go as a camper), you get to have tons of fun, make lots of memories, make new friends (or see old friends), you get to strengthen your faith...it ...

My Christian Music Playlist

I have been listening to Christian music for about 13 years now, after stumbling across a radio station that I have come to love. I listen to different types of music (country, pop, rock 'n roll, Irish, Christian), but Christian music has been my go-to most of the time these days. My favorite Christian music radio station is KLOVE, and I absolutely love the DJs there. Before I started listening to Christian music, I was actually hesitant to start listening, as I didn't think I would be as into it as much as I am, but I am so glad I gave it a chance! There are a lot of songs that I like, but the ones mention here are my absolute favorites (which is still a lot). So, in no particular order, here is my Christian music playlist: Truth Be Told by Matthew West Free to Be Me by Francesca Battistelli I Can Only Imagin by MercyMe 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) by Matt Redman The Father's House by Cory Asbury Help is On the Way (Maybe Midnight) by Toby Mac Who Am I by Casting Crowns...

Reading the Bible In One Year: January Reading

I am currently doing the challenge of reading the bible in one year, and even though it's only been a few days since it has started, I am doing good. I have been keeping up with the reading, and hope to be able to keep up for the rest of the year. I tried doing this last year, but I got sick a couple times, and just lost my momentum and motivation to keep going. The reading plan I am doing is from an insert in the Joni and Friends planner that I have, and am looking forward to each day's reading! I am looking to grow my faith, and to get to know God more, so hopefully reading the bible with inspire me to find my path on this journey. Here is this month's reading for each day: Genesis 1-3 Genesis 4-7 Genesis 8-11 Job 1-5 Job 6-9 Job 10-13 Job 14-16 Job 17-20 Job 21-23 Job 24-28 Job 29-31 Job 32-34 Job 35-37 Job 38-39 Job 40-42 Genesis 12-15 Genesis 16-18 Genesis 19-21 Genesis 22-24 Genesis 25-26 Genesis 27-29 Genesis 30-31 Genesis 32-34 Genesis 35-37 Genesis 38-40 Genesis 41...

My 2023 Faith Bucket List

One of my favorite things to do is to make lists (I don't know why, but I just love lists!!), so I figured why not make a faith-based bucket list? I want to do things that bring me closer to God, and that strengthen my faith. I am a very shy, reserved person, so I want to step out of my comfort zone, and do the things I really want to do, especially when it comes to my faith. I would love to be able to do as many things on this list as possible this year, but if I only do a few of them, that is fine with me. I don't want to over-burden myself, nor do I want to burn out. I want to do what I can. So, in no particular order, here is my bucket list for 2023: Read the bible every day (and read the entire bible in one year) Learn to pray better, and pray every day Read one Christian book a month Be an STM at a Joni and Friends retreat Have quiet time every day Listen to Christian podcasts Create faith based art Go to a Christian concert Read a devotional book Attend at least one Chri...

My Christian/Faith Wishlist

I am starting to get more serious about improving/working on my faith, and there are some supplies that I think would help me be more consistent in developing my faith more. I have experienced a few things in life, that made me want to be more active in my faith, and in the Christian community, so hopefully have some good tools will help me with that. In no particular order, here are some things I would like to get for my journey: Coffee & Bible Time Tote Bag Coffee & Bible Time Pencil Pouch Bible highlighters The Bible Study: A One Year Study of the Bible and How It Relates to You by Zach Windahl Color Me Blessed Inspirational Adult Coloring Book by Flora Waycott Bible cover/carrying case New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotional by Paul David Tripp Inspired to Grace Bible Study Journal Inspired to Grace Prayer Journal Promises to Bless Your Heart Inspirational Coloring Book for Adults and Teens With Scripture The Psalms in Color--Inspirational Coloring Book with Scriptur...
